Historical Background
David Livingstone College of Education is a very prominent institution located in Livingstone, Zambia. It was established to provide quality teacher education and training, significantly contributing to the educational landscape of the country. It was opened in 1959, under the hospice of the Christian Council of Zambia which later became Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ). From 1959 to 2007, the college trained primary school teachers with certificate in Education. From 2007, the College delved into a Secondary teaching institution offering Diploma in Education. By 2016, the College added degree programs to the already existing Diploma programs. Currently, the College is offering degree and Diploma programs in Association with the University of Zambia.
